Åshild Telle, PhD | Postdoctoral researcher
Åshild Telle is originally from Norway and holds degrees in Mathematics and Informatics (BSc, University of Oslo), Mathematics and Statistics (MSc, University of Melbourne), and Natural Sciences (PhD, University of Oslo). Her doctoral research at Simula Research Laboratory integrated mathematics, scientific computing, and biology to develop novel models of cardiac tissue mechanics. Here she learned how computational methods can be combined with life sciences to gain deeper insight into human physiology. In the lab, Åshild focuses on developing computational spatially explicit cell models with subcellular structure to investigate how disease-related structural changes impair cardiac function. Outside the lab, Åshild enjoys travelling, cooking, coffee and taking care of her plants.
